CRANIAL THECA
It may be necessary to reconstruct or repair parts of the skull that have been damaged or removed as a result of trauma, disease or surgery.
The cranial reconstructive procedure aims to restore the skull’s anatomy and function, providing protection for the brain and a satisfactory aesthetic appearance.
MATERIALS
Two possible options:
PEEK
Titanium alloy Ti6Al4V
TEMPORO-MANDIBULAR
The temporo-mandibular joint acts as the junction between the jaw and the skull. Diseases or problems with the joint can cause pain, chewing difficulties and other disorders related to malfunctioning of the jaw.
Reconstruction is aimed at recovering and restoring function to the temporo-mandibular joint.
MATERIALS
Condylar components: Titanium alloy Ti6Al4V
Glene metal back: Titanium alloy Ti6Al4V
Inserts or glene: full poly (UHMWPE)
PLATES
Plates are devices used in maxillofacial surgery mainly following trauma and/or fractures. Their function is to stabilise and support the surrounding bones and facilitate healing.
There are different types of plates with different shapes depending on their function and location.
MATERIALS
Titanium alloy Ti6Al4V
MANDIBULAR PLATES
Mandibular plates are used to stabilise and support the mandible. There are different variants of this type of plate that may or may not integrate the mandibular condyle.
Mandibular plates are useful for restoring or maintaining natural joint function.
MATERIALS
Titanium alloy Ti6Al4V
ZIGOMATIC RECONSTRUCTIONS
Reconstruction is performed following congenital facial deformities, severe bone fractures due to trauma, removal of tumours or other pathologies.
The purpose of this reconstruction is to restore function and aesthetics in patients who have lost part of their zygomatic bone.
